Happy New Year!
I hope you all had some time to enjoy yourselves and reset. Seeing friends, family or simply resting.
I wanted to finish 2024 with a blog but it didn’t quite happen in time. A little late but here it is…
My 2024 highlights as a LogiqBoard Teacher 💫
Writing
I’ve loved blogging and creating content. Here are some of my shares and posts from Instagram and Facebook. As you can see there are so many games, puzzles and investigations to explore through LogiqBoard.
Travel 🌊
2024 was a dream year for travelling. Wales, Barcelona, Greece, Budapest and Cyprus. I can’t quite believe it myself but I loved every second. The sea, the sun lifts me in ways I cannot explain. I would have suited a life of chess tournaments and travel, if only I started young!
LogiqBoard has taken off! 🚀
LogiqBoard continues to grow, with over 6000 users from around the world! Many of you are taking advantage of our free trial where you explore all the benefits of LogiqBoard in your classroom. Please share with your friends!
We’re so happy to see it blossom and grow in popularity. We want more teachers, students, families and boardgame fans around the world to enjoy LogiqBoard. Thank you for the feedback you send the team and for those wonderful little messages you send to me about LogiqBoard and my posts. ❤️
Number One platform on teacher courses 💻
LogiqBoard is the most popular platform on chess teacher training. Our very own Rita Atkins, Fide Education Secretary and other Fide leaders use LogiqBoard on the teacher courses. It’s used on the ECU Chess and Primary Education distance learning course. It’s also part of the Chess Plus courses, chess and strategy games! And recently I discovered that Chess in Schools and Communities feature LogiqBoard on their recommended resources list.
Presenting at Conferences 🎲
It was amazing to present at the UK Joint Maths Association with John Foley from Chess Plus, our session on strategy games was great as was the training session I led with Sara Tilley at the London primary maths leaders day.
Chess Connections and new friends ♛♚
Judit’s Polgar’s Chess Connects Us Festival was a huge event, coinciding with the Chess Olympiad, the atmosphere was electric. I was inspired by many of the speakers and also got to make some special connections.
Elias Mastoras, Marianna Stefanidi, Dijana Dengler and Maurice Ashley were my favourites. If you haven’t read the blog about Elias or Budapest then please do.
The LogiqBoard Team 2024

It was also the first time Rita , Marton and I met together. Raising a glass to our journey so far and the future! Who knows if we’ll be a trio next year…
The End of a Year 🙏
I’m always reflective. Speak less and observe more. Being critical, creative and living in the ‘ideas zone’ is my happy place, some might say this is also my weakness!
It’s important to look back and see how far you’ve come. Appreciate your accomplishments, no matter how big or small. Value yourself.
LogiqBoard has given me my dream job. I get to travel, meet the most amazing people. I get to create and share content, blog and work with passionate educators such as Brigitta Peszleg and John Foley from ChessPlus! 🟧 ⬛️
The year ended for me with a car accident on Christmas Eve. Luckily there were no passengers. Although it wasn’t my fault I can’t help thinking what the lesson is. Why did it happen? I willl be home for a while until I am better.
That night as my other half flicked through TV channels I ended up watching the film Super/Man: The Christopher Reeve Story. A documentary about his life, his Superman films, the tragic accident that left him paralysed and his charity work.
It’s a moving and powerful film about a special human and those around him who were also remarkable. He ended the documentary with the definition of a hero:
“A hero is an ordinary individual who finds the strength to persevere and endure in spite of overwhelming obstacles.” – Christopher Reeve
I wanted to share this with you as we start 2025. It’s so easy to get caught up in the routine of life and work that you forget to see what really matters.
My wish to you
I wish you all health and happiness.
Be kind, slow down and connect with those that are dear to you. Be present because life is a gift we shouldn’t take for granted.
